PT Bukit Makmur Istindo Nikeltama (PT Bumanik), a nickel mining company, commissioned a comprehensive geotechnical and hydrological study to support the development of its nickel mining operation within the IUP area.
The geotechnical assessment included slope stability and diggability analyses. Slope stability evaluation was conducted to determine recommended mine slope geometries, including single-bench and overall slope configurations, based on Factor of Safety (FoS) and Probability of Failure (PoF) criteria. The diggability assessment was performed to evaluate excavation characteristics and material handling requirements across the planned mining area.
The hydrological assessment comprised rainfall analysis, surface runoff evaluation, catchment area delineation, and mine water management planning. The study provided technical recommendations for mine water infrastructure, including sediment ponds, drainage channels, pump capacity requirements, and groundwater quality considerations. The results established the basis for the mine drainage and dewatering system design to support safe and efficient mining operations.
